👙Let’s talk about Chlorine exposure!
(The next few days I will be covering my top subjects for staying healthy over the summer).
🏊🏻♀️Chlorine exposure has been shown to worsen asthma, allergies, and eczema.
🏊♂️Studies have shown that after just 40min of exposure there is a large rise in markers showing DNA damage.
🏊🏻♀️Chlorine competes with iodine receptors in the thyroid gland, iodine is needed for production of thyroid hormones.
🏊♂️Boys under the age of 7 swimming in indoor chlorinated pools just 30min every 2 weeks showed testosterone about 20% lower than those who swam in ionized disinfected pools.
🏊🏻♀️Chemical sunscreen + chlorine=toxic chemicals that effect liver, kidney and nervous system.
😱 So what do we do?
1. Rinse off before swimming and shower after.
2. Wear goggles and teach kids not to open eyes without them.
3. Vitamin C works both internally and externally. Take Vitamin C in divided doses daily.
4. 👉Geranium oil has been shown by scientist to be a natural chelator bonding to chemicals and carrying them out of the body. Add several drops to coconut oil and use over body before and/or after swimming (I also love to take an epsom bath with Geranium after the pool, great for kids too), and applying Geranium to bottoms of feet.
5. 👉Use mineral sunscreen-eliminates the chemicals that react to the chlorine decreasing toxic overload.
6. Hydrate adding a pinch of Himalayan salt to water to help restore minerals and flush your system.
7. Pick outside pools, salt water, or copper ionized pools when possible.
