Dealing with narcissism

My husband and I were talking about this on Sunday and it felt like a breath of fresh air to read this and process through what I was feeling. ☕️

“If they never ask about you, or show any interest in your life, its not you— it’s narcissism.

This is such an important thing to understand!

There are only two kinds of people in this world. People who crave power —narcissism. And people who crave connection -- the rest of us.

If you are in a relationship where you give, give, give, and you receive next to nothing in return — it’s time to stop beating yourself up and realize you’re dealing with a narcissist.

Narcissists don’t understand how damaging their lack of love and support is. That’s why they make you feel like you’re the one who’s crazy. It’s not an excuse for their behavior, just an explanation so you know it really isn’t you — it’s them.

You don’t need to change yourself to be worthy of their love, you need to change who you’re in a relationship with. And next time, make sure it’s someone who’s worthy of all that you give.” @melrobbinslive #wordsofwisdom
