Knowledge is Power

As you know, October is the month designated for "Breast Cancer Awareness" ...but is anyone telling you to be "aware" of carcinogenic ingredients in your skin care and makeup...hmmm...yep....banned in Europe, but the USA still allows this stuff in very well known skin care and makeup products!. I find that very sad...so many skin care and makeup products being marketed to women and girls, that contain ingredients linked by research to tumor growth and hormone disruption If you see any of these ingredients in what you are using, make the quick switch to Young Living products (over 700 products, including skin care and makeup, ladies!!!!)

  • Isoparafin-comes from petroleum...as in, the gas in our cars, or kerosene, or diesel fuel...petroleum products banned in cosmetics by law in Europe

  • Diazolidinyl Urea-banned in Europe...a formaldehyde releaser...formadehyde is carcinogenic

  • Fragrance/Phthalates-over 4000 chemicals can be labeled as fragrance
"Prenatal exposure to phthalates and delays in learning, including a recent study that shows children exposed to phthalates in the womb are more likely to display autisticlike behaviors. Baby boys are more likely to experience changes in their genitals if their mothers were exposed to phthalates during pregnancy (Environmental Health perspectives paper of the year 2005) As of 2008, children's toys do not contain phthalates...but it's still in personal products in the US...banned in Europe

  • Parabens-hormone disruptors, linked to numerous cancers, strong link to breast cancer because of their ability to increase estrogen in the body "Parabens mimic estrogen by binding to estrogen receptors on cells." Research shows that the perceived influx of estrogen beyond normal levels can in some cases trigger reactions such as increasing breast cell division and the growth of tumors." Banned in Europe...still being used in the USA

  • Retinyl Palmitate-(not safe during pregnancy especially)-synthetic form of Vit A, has been linked to skin cancer, vit A toxicity, liver damage, and osteoporosis. Yes...banned in Europe, but not here

  • Hydroquinone-Baylor College of Medicine linked this to tumor growth and cellular transformation

We could go on...so many more...and not just in skin care and makeup, but in all personal care products, like deodorants, shampoos, body lotions, toothpastes...we use over 300 chemicals in our bodies daily!
