🤓Your body does not recognize time the way that you're mind does. Your body can't differentiate between something happening long ago rather than just now. Emotions are a record of the past, to help us learn what hurts, what causes pain and how to navigate life but sometimes they also cripple us. If the emotion is stored in the body then the body is literally living in the past and holding that record as truth and data. It is reeling and feeling that state constantly until we release and feel what needs to be felt and let go of the imprint that has blocked genuine purpose in our life.

Dr. Caroline Leaf (a neuroscientist) talks about the anatomy of a negative memory in the neurons of the brain. She says the negative FEAR driven memories look like ugly gnarly trees in the mind. They can actually block out positive memory because they take up space. When you go to work through an emotion, memory or intention if you are not anchored in the PRESENT then you can actually cause that negative memory to grow larger and worse.
